Super Seventh at Snetterton

Super Seventh at Snetterton

Jack Hart finished the latest round of the inaugural British Talent Cup in superb 7th and 13th places moving him up to 11th overall in the championship.  At 13 years old Jack is one of the youngest of the 23 riders making up the British Talent Cup and this was a fantastic achievement. The races were held at the 3 mile long Snetterton Race circuit in England running along with the British Superbike Championship.  This was a completely new track for Jack to learn and after a good day of practice on the Friday he was confident he could be challenging for a top ten finish. Weather was good for Saturday morning qualifying and the BTC team had the bikes set up for a dry session, with Jack's bike having had some suspension modifications to try and help his feel for the track.  In the first half of the session Jack found himself in a group of riders who were all overtaking...

First Top Ten Finish in the British Talent Cup

First Top Ten Finish in the British Talent Cup

The bank holiday weekend saw the British Talent Cup return to Donington Park Race Circuit for round 2 where it was running with the World Superbike Series. The first round of the BTC had been cut short due to horrendous weather conditions with the second race being cancelled due to the flooded track. The weather hadn’t improved much for round 2 and young Jack Hart from Renfrew headed out onto a very wet circuit with the other Talent Cup riders for FP1 on Friday morning. Friday Practice and Qualifying Jacks main aim was to just get a feel for the track and conditions without worrying too much about his lap times. This went well for the majority of the session as he was in the top ten but on the final lap he was caught out with a stream that was running across the track and ended up with a sore high side. Jack dusted himself down as the BTC team set...

Jack Hart in the points in first British Talent Cup Race

Jack Hart finished the first ever British Talent Cup race in an excellent 13th place picking up his first championship points in the process. The 23 riders making up the British Talent Cup got their first taste of competitive action in far from ideal conditions at Donington Park last weekend. As they went out for the first free practice session on Saturday the rain was falling. The track had plenty of water in places and the temperatures were very low. Free Practice The aim of the first session was really to get a feel for the bike in wet conditions but stay calm and learn what you could. He finished the 30-minute session in 18th position. The second free practice saw some improvement in the weather. The rain had stopped and a thin dry line had begun to appear on the circuit. It was still very cold though. With more experience of the track under his belt Jack Hart steadily improved as the session...

British Talent Cup 2018 selection event

British Talent Cup 2018 selection event

Just home after an amazing couple of days at the selection of the 2018 British Talent Cup, I'm absolutely delighted to have been picked and really happy for all my other friends who got picked but also really sorry for the ones who didn't. I didn't get picked for the BSB minimoto teams last year so know how it feels. I was feeling confident when we arrived that I could do well but I wasn't sure if it would be enough to get into the final 22 riders as there was loads of really fast and experienced riders. In the first session I was one of the first groups out, I tried to do what I was told and be smooth (but fast!), get faster every lap but definitely do not crash. I managed to do all three but as I watched the rest of the groups I realised how much faster they looked. I made the cut though and in the...
